Dr. Lau enjoyed working as a camp counselor for children with HIV during college and was amazed by their strength and resiliency. This experience inspired her to pursue a career where she could work and help sick children, and thus began her journey to becoming a pediatrician.
What Dr. Lau loves most about her job is the kids. Their infectious energy, cute smiles, and unique personalities make each day fun and rewarding. Dr. Lau enjoys developing long-term relationship with each child and their parent as they experience all stages of life. As she states it best, "Being a pediatrician brings me great satisfaction. Not only do I have the best job in the world where I get to work with kids, but I also have the opportunity to collaborate with parents on their children's care.”
Dr. Lau received her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science in Illinois and completed her residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She has been practicing for over 10 years and during that time she has had the privilege of serving as a pediatrician for children of all ages. Dr. Lau spent the first 8 years in a private practice outpatient setting and the past 2 years as a neonatal hospitalist at CHOC, St. Joseph, and Hoag Hospital where she cared for newborn and premature babies and attended high-risk deliveries.
